As the Earth Warms, Help Us Turn Up the Heat on Vermont Lawmakers Who Refuse to Take Bold Action on Climate Change!

The Youth Lobby is at it again.  We are planning another Rally for the Planet to remind Vermont lawmakers that it is their moral obligation to act more boldly against climate change. Our message is simple – the longer we wait to take bold action, the more disruptive and damaging the required changes will be in the future.  It is wrong to force future generations to pay for the costs of our atmospheric pollution. We are looking for teachers and students from schools and colleges across Vermont who can help us plan our Climate Rally for 2017. Our next meeting is […]

Action Opportunity – VT Gas Pipeline

The climate movement is on the rise throughout the country and around the world. Within the last year, we celebrated the cancellation of the Keystone XL Pipeline! Thousands of protectors are defending water and sacred places in North Dakota and Iowa, opposing the Dakota Access Pipeline. Putting a stop to extreme energy is essential to avoiding utter climate catastrophe. Here in Vermont, we have been fighting tooth and nail to stop the Vermont Gas pipeline that would carry fracked gas from Alberta to Addison County. Geprags Park in Hinesburg is the last stronghold of resistance, not yet tainted by the […]

Round Two! Join the Planning Coalition and Help Us Organize Another Rally for the Planet!

To The Youth of Vermont and their Adult Allies, Last year, approximately 700 young Vermonters from over twenty different schools and universities marched down State Street in Montpelier to participate in the largest youth-focused political rally in Vermont’s history.  These students were all united in the belief that greater political action must be taken to address the threat of Climate Change. Not much has changed since last year, however our movement is just getting started!  As the earth heats up, the pressure felt by our lawmakers will increase; and as the oceans rise, so will our youth.  As more and more people around the […]

We had amazing guest speakers, including Governor Peter Shumlin, Senator David Zuckerman, Representative Kesha Ram, and 350VT representative Austin Davis.
