Time to Organize! Join Us at the Youth Activism Summit on Sept. 5th

Please join us for a daylong, youth-led event supported by the Peace & Justice Center to gather youth from around Vermont for a day of bonding, education, and more! Join us if you are part of any social justice activist work or if you want to learn more about how to get involved. Those in middle school, high school, and beyond are welcome, although the programming will be geared towards the high school age group. This event is FREE or by donation at the door. Lunch will be provided, and stipends are available to offset travel costs. Please register by the deadline, Wednesday, September 5th! BECOME A CLIMATE LEADER Register for the Vermont Youth Climate Summit: The aim of the Vermont Youth Climate Summit is to educate high school students on the impacts of climate change through peer-to-peer learning. Encouraging students to take action on an issue that is highly relevant to their generation is a key mission of the Summit. Challenging both high school and college students to think deeply about the issue allows for a greater impact and understanding of the common role that youth play in the climate movement. It is the goal of the Vermont Youth Climate Summit to connect students of all ages and to empower them to become climate leaders. Schools are invited to send a team of 6-7 students and staff to attend this engaging conference. Adirondack Youth Climate Leadership Retreat – Open to Vermont Students!

There are several spots available for Vermont students to attend the first ever Adirondack Youth Climate Leadership Retreat August 9-11. All the information you need is in the attached save the date. Join us for the 2016 Youth Activism Summit April 30-May 1st Montpelier High School Come to workshops, create art together, have fun, meet other awesome young folks, and sharpen your understanding of how your talents can make change in the world! The Youth Activism Summit will take place as part of the Vermont People’s Convention/Just Transition Assembly.  The People’s Convention will feature a broad diversity of grassroots groups working for social and environmental justice.
