On September 8, thousands of rallies will be held in cities and towns around the world to demand our local leaders commit to building a fossil free world that works for all of us.
Join us as we hold our local leaders to account and demand that they walk the talk on climate action.
Why?
From Sept. 12 – 14, leaders of cities, towns, states, companies, and organizations from all over the world will gather at the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco to highlight and make new commitments to climate action.
The Saturday before the summit, climate groups all over the world are organizing marches, rallies, and more to hold leaders accountable—to demand politicians stand with their communities and deliver more than just words!
We’re joining in! 350Vermont is supporting local groups all around the state in holding solidarity actions targeted at our own elected officials to let them know that we will stand with a powerful movement of Indigenous people, frontline communities, immigrants, people of color, people of faith, young people, Californians, and people from across the world who are demanding real climate leadership to keep fossil fuels in the ground and call for a just and equitable transition to renewable energy.

We’ll start together at the VT Farmers Food Center at 9, and we’ll come back together at the Chaffee Art Center at noon. More info coming soon!

Windham County Rise for Climate – Rally & Ride – 3:00 – 6:00 PM – Brattleboro Farmers Market
Our theme is ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION, getting people out of single-occupancy vehicles, and creating a PEOPLE’S TRANSPORTATION PLAN that works for all of us. We’re meeting at 3:00 pm for a critical / kidical mass bike ride from the Brattleboro Farmers’ Market to the Common, hoping to have as many bikes on the street as possible. At the same time, a different group of people will meet at the Brattleboro Food Co-op and walk / march together up to the Common. Both the ride and the march will be festive and upbeat, and we hope to include bike decorations, stilt-walkers, drums, and singing. At the Common, we’ll have a rally with speakers (including State Representative Mollie Burke!), a bicycle “petting zoo” to show off all the different kinds of possibilities, tabling info from local and regional organizations related to transportation and social / climate justice, art activities (such as bike stencils for t-shirts and canvas bags), kids activities (face-painting), live music, opportunities to envision a people’s transportation plan, snacks, and water.
Don’t forget to wear your Youth Lobby T-Shirts and make your voices heard!
